Today is my favorite kind of day – all drizzly and foggy,
but still warm. Just looking outside invigorates me. The fresh scent stimulates
all my senses and gives me a sense of euphoria. It is one of those days when I
just want to curl up on the couch with a warm cup of Solle Naturals CinnaMate and a good book.
Instead, having to go to work, I opted for my CinnaMate in a
bowl of oatmeal, along with cardamom, hemp seeds, chia seeds, blueberries, and
a spoonful of coconut oil. For extra protein
I ate one full hardboiled egg and one egg white. Perfect breakfast! It really hit the spot and kept me full until
break time where I filled up on half a chicken breast and a couple of lettuce
leaves.
Eating every 2.5-3 hours keeps my energy level up. It helps
keep me from STARVING when I get home from work, and gives me the energy I need
for the full workout. My afternoon break
consists of a Solle Vital shake with Solle Excell, and a cup of green tea. After
work, I mix up my Helix BCAAs and take my collagen pills before I hit the gym.
After workout consists of lean meat and a green veggie
(chicken breast and broccoli, or salmon and asparagus, and rice, or quinoa. I found that working out actually keeps me on
track when it comes to my diet. Yes, I am hungrier, but I make better choices.
As soon as my workout routine falters, my diet goes along
with it. Bring on the potato chips and chocolate chip cookies. MMMMMM. However,
when I hit the gym right after work, the last thing I want to do is ruin that
feeling of accomplishment. The craving for junk food is replaced with a craving
for something healthier like a salad or salmon and asparagus.
Remember, your goal to living a healthy, functional life is
70% diet, 20% exercise, and 10% supplements based on your individual needs.
