Favorite Supplements

It has been FOREVER since I blogged.  A full time job seems to have sucked the creativity right out of me. However, now that I am back at the health store, I am going to have more time to dedicate to my blogs, my website, and myself (supersize exercise).

I am so excited, I just have to tell everyone...After I give you a bit of history.

When I first moved to Texas, I worked as a temp before settling in at Sunshine Herbs in Saginaw. I have shopped at health stores for over 20 years and always thought it would be fun to work at one. It is fun, but as always, felt the pull of the gym. An opportunity arose that I thought was perfect for me and I went to work as the Business Manager for a large gym and its smaller branch.  If I were single, that would have been the PERFECT job. However, getting home after my kids were in bed and not seeing them, having to volunteer on the weekends, work the holidays...I quit and went back to the health store.

While working there, I spent much of my time studying what different supplements do, their side effects, the proper dosage, etc..  When I was younger, it was all about the sports enhancement supplements and immune builders. Now that I am older, it is about antioxidants and anti-inflammatories on top of the sports enhancement.  My first month back, I spent $700 at the store. After a few months of trying to narrow it down to only the necessities, I cut it down to around $450 a month.  This is for my entire family, not just me, so it really isn't so bad, is it?  Anyway, I had a multitude of supplements, trying to find just the right combination.

At the same time, I read an article about Paul Chek's feelings on whey protein.  I was then on the hunt for undenatured whey.  I believe things happen for a reason and you are where you are meant to be...
Anyway, my brother-in-law called to tell us about how he ran into a friend from college and he now looks younger than he did a few years ago. Plus, he had a debilitating disease that he now has under control by using this certain supplement.  And the company has some special whey protein that I needed to look into.  I thought, "Great, another MLM.  Forget it."

The company is ISAGENIX and sure enough, not only do they carry undenatured whey, but they also have a supplement called Product B, which contained ALL the antioxidants I was trying to get with multiple supplements from the store.  You know how some things just feel right, the perfect fit?  Well these products are just that.

I have been a Wellness Professional since 1997.  I work in a health store where I get all my products at cost.  I use Isagenix. That should tell you something. If it is not enough, you should take a look at the list of professional athletes that use the products as well.  I just want to add...just by switching my normal breakfast protein shake to IsaPro, I lost four pounds the first week.  Plus, I save over $150 per month over paying cost at the health store!  Too see what I take, check out my website at Keep Fitness Fun.

I am not suggesting you sign on to sell the products, I am just suggesting that you try these awesome products and feel the difference!!

Live Blood Analysis - For Real?

When I first walked into the Naturopath's office two years ago to interview for a sales clerk position at Sunshine Herbs, I instantly became obsessed with blood analysis.  He had posters hanging on his wall for both live and dried blood.  My sister suffers from an autoimmune disorder and I have not had the best of luck with my own immune system throughout the years and I wanted to see if my blood would give me any answers.

A few months ago, business was a little slow and I was invited into the office for a Live Blood Analysis.  Now, I have read all the websites that say that there is nothing to them, they are quackery and nothing more than a way to dupe the poor customer into spending hundreds of dollars on worthless supplements.  After my reading, I am a believer that the live blood analysis can tell us some things about our blood.  Could I tell what vitamins I was short on? No.  Could I tell if I myself have an autoimmune disorder? Possibly.  Did I benefit greatly from this reading?  Yes!

For at least a year prior to my finger being poked, I have been on natural blood thinners daily; Feverfew for migraines, grape seed extract (in my Wrinkle Rescue supplement), Gingko (in my Natures Plus Ultra Hair Plus), 3 grams of Omega 3s, and probably more off and on throughout.  The drop of blood that formed on my finger showed the fact, that yes, my blood was a little thinner than normal, as it did not quite form that perfect ball.

Now, I realize that slides can be manipulated to show results to sell products, but I have known this Naturopath for years and he explained every step, as he would love for me to get certified to do this and aid him in his practice.  The first thing he said as he reviewed my blood was, "You better go see a doctor."

What I saw explained A LOT!!  My platelets were so stuck together, that instead of looking like fizzy bubbles, it looked like I was made of worms!  That not only explained my headaches, but the fact that I have NEVER been able to run a mile straight. Even in track when I was younger and ran every day, I maxed out at the 800.  I never understood how people could run without their lungs freezing.  A few years ago, I even had a doctor tell me that perhaps I suffered from exercise induced asthma and prescribed me an inhaler.  Didn't work.

After viewing my blood, I immediately began researching causes.  Hmmm...autoimmune disorders, along with cancer...  After talking to my mother, I found out that a relative on her side was diagnosed with, "sticky blood," and I knew that my father's side has had blood issues, though all I know is that it leads to heart issues and stroke. My uncle was even told he needs to stop eating so many tomatoes because the vitamin K was making his clot.

After spending hours on the computer and my head stuck in books, I purchased Solaray's Nattokinase Serrapeptase supplement.  I stopped all other supplements (due to possible blood thinning properties), even my feverfew for migraines, which I was VERY hesitant to do.  After 3 weeks on the supplement I hopped on the treadmill and ran a mile - no lung issues whatsoever!  And then I did it again later that week.  I felt my legs and core but not my lungs for the first time!!  And guess what? NO HEADACHES!  I can't say enough about the difference this supplement has made in my life - all due to a Live Blood Analysis.

For Real? I will let you decide.

Pictures I took with my phone of my blood.  Soooo cool!  All that haze is fibrin.  Even after taking the enzyme supplement he gave me, my fibrin was so thick, it actually held many of my blood cells in place.  Hence the reason I started taking the Natto!

My platelets are so stuck together, they look like worms!

Got the flu? Get over it!

I must confess...I did not get a flu shot this year, as I have in years past, a thought that haunted me every time I walked down a grocery store aisle after someone sneezed or coughed.  Thoughts of the hours the germs stay in the air, alive and waiting to attack their next victim flooding my mind and drowning out my memorized grocery list.

Then last Saturday it hit.  A few sneezes and I was joking, "I must be coming down with the flu." When I got horribly winded walking up the stairs to tuck my daughter into bed, I started thinking more of a heart attack coming on and the fact that I seriously needed to start working out again.

Then Sunday the cough hit. By Monday my head felt like it could explode at any minute and it was all I could do to pull myself out of bed to head into work. It was payroll Monday and I would have hundreds of employees mad if I told them they couldn't be paid because I didn't feel well.

I drank down my Solle Vital, took my multivitamin and a Defense Plus by Nutribiotic and headed off to work. I locked myself behind closed doors and warned everyone away to keep from spreading the war monger virus.  The pain in my head, unfortunately, did not subside, I coughed and sneezed all day, and by the time I was driving home my chest ached so badly, it felt like I had a 25 pound weight plate sewn on the inside.  When I got home, I drank down another Solle Vital.

I called in sick Tuesday and Wednesday and spent the days in bed with a slight fever and the shivers. I drank my Solle Vital three times a day, took one Defense Plus daily, and used my neti pot once a day. I had a hot apple cider vinegar & honey drink at night.  I used my time to watch the presentations on the Solle Naturals scented oils.

By Thursday, I was tired, but ready to go back to work.  I strategically placed my Solle Naturals scented oils on my body and headed into work.  I was exhausted much of the day, but by Friday the symptoms were almost gone.

As sick as I felt, I knew that I could, and should, be feeling much worse.  I am very thankful I had my Solle Vital on hand, along with my Defense Plus. Without them, the illness could have been much worse and lasted days longer.

If you are feeling under the weather, I strongly urge you to use scented oils, Solle Vital, Defense Plus, and to eat dark green leafy vegetables. Apple Cider Vinegar toddies have been used in my family to heal the sick for generations. I add about a tablespoon of vinegar to eight ounces of hot water. I then add the honey and a sprinkle of cayenne to burn away any bug that may have implanted itself within my body. Super good flavor and good for you!
